Easter Show 2026 Craft Disappointment

The Easter show was a massive highlight for me I was going to create a new piece in my hobby that I decided to find enjoyment in.

I had entered pieces in the Easter show in hand form pottery and won ribbons and sold them.

This year was different I was going to find a wow factor to create. Over the weeks and months I worked on the piece starting from the beginning. Looking at the pieces of plywood you would have no idea what my mind could see the finish product telling the story.

I drew plans of pictures, worked out the craft materials, did a few hours here and a few hours there. Some nights I would work on the piece that hours just fly by especially the closer date.

The Easter Show was not my disappointment it was the deadline when you enter your pieces you need to make sure it can arrive there on the date given.

Your mind can wander thinking well maybe arriving earlier it could have made it. Have you ever had something stopping you for a reason. I think back and think it was just not the right time.

Mother nature decided to come down hard with a massive hail storm that the driven journey was impossible.

I'm going to share my photos to show you the work that went into this beautiful piece and the moral of the story here is when you focus on a piece in my mind. Take your time if something stops you proceeding. Take a break and come back to it.

If you can picture a size of a computer keyboard this is how long it is. It's Unique, different what you see on one side is the same on the other side.

This is the plywood templates I have started with. I used 4 because each side needed to be decorated.

The picture above is the starting process, the wooden stand had been created and the plywood templates glued. I am now starting to decorate.

At this stage, I had started to paint the face but it was erased later and redone as I was not happy with the features.

I had started the other fairy and was doing the wings decorating them with craft pearls. The hair was made from different shades of felt. The clothes from Wool and lace.

The shoes had been created and as you can see the face now needs to be done more realistic.

The face has been painted but more tune ups later date were done. I was trying different things on the wings

I will need to continue this as I need to find the final pictures.
